Robotic Neuronavigation (hereinafter RONNA) is to explore and develop an innovative and competitive robotic system for neurosurgical applications. This will be accomplished through the cooperation of public higher education institutions and the business sector. With the help of EU funds, RONNA project will enable the development and the transition of the existing experimental research robot cell in the high-tech commercial product able to perform neurosurgical procedures. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FMENA), Central Finance and Contracting Agency, and the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports concluded on 12/01/2014 an agreement on grant for a period of 16 months for the implementation of the Project. The European Regional Development Fund through the Strengthening capacities for research, development, and innovation priority axis funds the Project.
The applicant research team participating in the project consists of members of the Department of Robotics and Manufacturing Systems Automation, University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Project leader is professor Bojan Jerbić, PhD.
